THE
LESSONS ARE RIGHT IN FRONT OF OUR EYES!
(Huffington
Post, Washington Post)

York Times, Aljazeera, Adam Roberts)

Allen, Nick Bunkley, Frazer Chronicle)
As
with most educational situations, if you take the time to look, people can
self-educate themselves with little effort, and will experience far less hurt
and pain during the process. It’s almost our Achilles heel, the inability to learn
either from current issues or from history. Why this is I do not know…..but be
assured, this inability to learn from current events and issues around us could be are undoing!
There
are those that believe that our end is near, my Mother did, that the trouble in
the Middle East is just prefaces’ that have been predicted, and now are coming
to pass. I do not have a clue regarding religious passages, scripture, and the
teachings of God; I simply live my life from day to day…..and try and not hurt
people or do wrong things.
In
this pursuit of what I call my Godliness I try to conduct myself as a
fair, honest, and the best person that I can be. Sometimes I fail miserably, I
fail, fall down, overindulge and treat people in a manner that I wouldn’t want
to be treated. My practice of Godliness is personal and is not for public
consumption, I was taught by my mother that religion was a private matter
between me…..and my maker.
What
we have today in the world surely can’t be called Godliness, but surprise, surprise;
many confrontations today are called “wars of oppression, attrition, or taking
back what was once taken”. Wars of
almost genocidal cleansing are waged somewhere in the world on a daily basis. I
understand the action of witnessing and how witnessing is taught in the Bible,
and how a true Christian needs to witness.
There
is one book in the Bible that many Christians across the globe seldom read,
seldom referee to and do not use. It’s the book of Revelations, also known as Revelation of the Apocalypse, and
lists, through its passages, the events that will befall the earth during the
time of the great rapture. It depicts the end of the world…..as we know it.
We
have had other lessons regarding our foreign policy strategies, and how many
have fallen on hard times, and total failure. Yet we continue in our attitude
of pomp, pageantry, and arrogance, we make demands, and back them up with
stealth military maneuvers, and either cease financial aid or cut back so that
the action results we seek are met.
WE
NOW FIND OURSELVES WITH ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY
Egypt
is exploding in what can be called a civil
war; the military in the country has effectively kicked out the country’s
first democratically elected leader…..President Mohammed Morsi. The United
States has refused so far to call the skirmish what it really is, a military
lead coup…..the reason, money.
If
the Egypt violence were called what it really is, the United States military
industrial complex could lose, or have to suspend $1.3 billion in annual
military aid to the strategically important nation, a move top U.S. officials
say would not “be in the best interests of the United States”.
As
the body count continues to grow, and as violence continues to escalate, the
chance for the United States to become a meaningful partner in Egypt may
quickly be passing by. To do the right thing for the situation and for the
American people is like a train at the station, ready to leave, but still
taking passengers.
The
violent clashes that have broken out across the country are possibly just the
beginnings of what might fall into full fledged confrontations. The five or six
hundred that have lost their lives during the course of the attacks might be
just the beginning.
THE
CALDRON THAT THE MIDDLE EAST IS
The
Middle East has been, and is, a hot spot of controversy spurred on by a
multitude of differences, practices and religions. Made up of Bahrain, Cyprus,
Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Palestine, Qatar,
Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, and Yemen.
There
are twelve different dialects spoken, of course the region is diverse in its religious
faiths, Islam and its many forms is the largest in the region, but Judaism and
Christianity are practiced as well.
There also is the Baha’i, Yazadinism, Zoroastrianism, Mandeanism, Druze,
Yardism, and Shahakism.
To
say that the Middle East is a melting pot
for religions would be understating the obvious, and to figure that there
wouldn’t be problems associated with such diversification you would probably reside on Mars. Many religions
of the world can trace their roots to the area, and the nomadic that roam the
countries fiercely protect their religious heritage.
Cooler
heads seemingly need to intervene between the military and former President
Mohamed Morsi before there is a full blown military conflict. More blood will
be spilled, and the senseless killing will continue.
Military
coups are never the answer, these military people are not diplomats, or politicians,
and without much doubt, a military take-over
of a country’s political process seems to be doomed by failure. Brotherhoods,
in this case, the Muslim Brotherhood, usually do poorly in resolving
differences of any kind.
Probably
the best action that could be taken by outside sources would be…..no action
what-so-ever, but that inaction
is usually never observed. For all the complex issues that I am sure face the
Middle East, there is one underlying truth that nobody can ignore, outside
forces will continue to monitor the action, and jockey for the best position
when the smoke dissipates.
Too
bad, since the Book of Revelations sites the final battles of the infidels will
take place in the area that is called the Middle East. To bad if we don’t
heed the lessons that are right in front of our eyes.
HAVE
A NICE DAY!
