IT IS WHAT IT IS!

IT IS WHAT IT IS! (Frazer Chronicle)

You know, I can't figure out how a "general" blogger, or a script writer, a story teller, or a writer of history can run out of material. I surf online news reports from as many as 20 news sources every day, skimming the headlines I come up with a new story every day. I usually use an online story as a kind of outline for my daily blog.

I always interject my ideas, thoughts and feelings towards an issue or subject matter and always seek out several sources to verify the initial idea for what I write. I, in addition to reading an internet story, search out statistical or historic corroborating information as much as time will allow. I sometimes spend 2 or 3 days on one issue, searching for additional stories on a particular story format.

I am totally convinced that war, conflict, imperialistic attitudes and nation building have all been a part of U.S. policies for many years, since the establishment of the original 13 colonies. Thomas Jefferson wanted to "wait until American population grew sufficiently advanced to take over the Spanish empire piece by piece," and that was in the 1780's.

The urge for expansion at the expense of other people goes back to the beginning of the United States itself. Cultural imperialism has occurred without overt government policy or involvement throughout our countries history. The resistance to actively occupy foreign territory has lead to policies of exerting influence via other means, through surrogates, puppet leaders and supporting unpopular governments through financial aid.

The United States has been at war almost continually from 1900 through 2012, as President George W. Bush warned, "the war on terror will be a long struggle......a long war." Well sir, once again you are wrong, the United States has been at war since 1900, now that is a long war.

Sometimes nations fall into a trap that leads them down the road to war, even if they do not desire a war, they are almost hamstrung into war. The First World War begun in June of 1914, but in actuality the "great war" started with massive weapons buildups and peace treaties between the different allies and belligerents.

There had to be a war in Europe, there were too many new weapons, navies, air forces and armies to not have a war. Something like 30 years before the start date of World War 1 the fate of the entire continent had been sealed because of the Allied Nations and their military might.

The first war for the U.S. took place from 1899 through 1902 and was conducted in the Philippines, and followed the American's defeat of Spain in Cuba and the Philippines. The U.S. purchased the Philippines, Puerto Rico and several other small area islands.

Then there was the Boxer uprising in Nicaragua, the Mexican Revolution, Haitian campaign, the Cacao War occupation, the Dominican campaign, World War 1, intrusion of Russia as part of their Civil War, World War 2, French-Indochina War, Korean conflict, Vietnam, second Indochina war, all sorts of "secret wars, Bay of Pigs, invasion of Grenada, Gulf War(s) and the War on Terror.

The United States would rather fight then make peace or love, "it is what it is," and we'd better start coming to grips with that reality. Citizens are leaving for war almost every week; they are leaving wives, sons, daughters, girl friends, mothers, fathers, friends and extended family.

They are volunteering and say that they are going to "serve their country." Well, I am a member of their country and believe you me, they don't have to go on my account, stay home, make babies, drink beer, be unproductive until you are forced to go to work, and then try and eek a bit more beer drinking time out of the day.

Let me lay a bit of brutal truth on you, you who wear fatigues, O.D. in color and end up in some dust infested spec of ground in a foreign country, you aren't serving your country, you’re serving industry, you’re serving the captains of business, those few who are calling the shots that effect the country, and put your lives in jeopardy every single day on foreign soil.

Wake the hell up, it's not a game, the bullets that sometimes wiz by your ear are real, the bullets, bombs and shells that you fire back are real, and rip the crap out of the "enemy." Wars seem romantic.....at first, but believe you me it's not. It's the kill or be killed attitude that comes to the forefront, it's an attitude most have.....and it's by far the worst of human-kinds abilities.

I curse those that make men kill, not for an ideal, not for a sense of purpose, and not to safeguard our nation. So that those "boys with toys" can interject their weapons into human-kind, to maim, kill, pillage and rape all for the sheer simple pleasure of war and to generate power for themselves.

The United States can't seem to keep its nose out of other people's business, or more to the point, can't seem to let people alone. Not everybody likes the way that America governs itself.....and others, some people just don't care, they would rather be under the heel of some dictator.

Yes folks....."It is what it is," and this April fool’s day, 2012, "we are what we are," idiots to allow these people to continue to lead us on this break-neck journey to absolutely nowhere. Have a nice day.
