AND I THOUGHT FISC WAS AN AMUSEMENT PARK IN ILLINOIS!

(National Journal, Forbes, Josh Lederman, Donna Cassata)

(Canadian Press, Associated Press, Guardian Newspaper)

(Huff Post, Aljazeera, USA TODAY, Frazer Chronicle)

You can imagine my amazement when I discovered that FISC was not an amusement park in central Illinois, I thought FISC stood for Fun in the Sun country! Damn I was looking forward to joining that outfit, and reaping some of those senior citizen rewards.

What actually FISC stands for is United States Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court, (FISC), just the sound of it congers up images of James Bond, and some beautiful babe with almost nothing on, cavorting on a sandy warm beach in some foreign country…..again a misnomer, I can’t seem to win today.

Okay I got it, I now understand what FISC stands for, another governmental agency that I help support, and will never get any benefit out of. “What’s that you say,” FISC is no longer just a foreign agency, but has the same power right here on the mainland as it does anywhere else in the world…..isn’t that convenient.

Come to find out, the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court, (FISC) is a U.S. federal court authorized under Statute act. 1788, enacted on October 25, 1978. It was established by the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978 (FISA). The FISC oversees requests for surveillance warrants against suspected foreign intelligence agents inside the United States by law enforcement agencies, (primarily the F.B.I.).

The FISC act was never intended for use by intelligence agencies within the United States against its citizens…..that is plainly spelled out in the explained accompanying material in the 1978 act. Today the FISC court is little more than a rubber stamping intermediary between intelligence and the American citizens that are spied upon.

The intelligence requests and subsequent hearings are secret, and closed to the public, and while records are kept, those records are not available to the public. In addition, due to the classified nature of its proceedings, only government attorneys are usually permitted to appear before the FISC. Due to the matters heard before it, FISC hearings may be held at any time of the day or night, weekdays, or weekends, thus one judge must be on call at all times to hear evidence and decide whether or not to issue a warrant.

In the beginning, FISC was composed of seven federal district judges appointed by the Chief Justice of the United States, each serving a seven year term, with a new judge being appointed each year. The term of each judge originally was seven years, but after the USA Patriot Act, the court was expanded from seven members to eleven.

THIS HAS BECOME A SURVEILLANCE STATE

Talk about your classic over-reaction, directly after the tragedy that was September 11,2001, in an effort to install a better organization with regards to world-wide intelligence, the United States was determined to enter into a new era of intelligence gathering. Included in the effort would be a new collaboration between intelligence agencies here in the home-land.

The people that are in charge of this gathering process, I swear to God, drink pots of caffeinated coffee by the hour, pretty much because to them, everybody is a suspect, everybody is guilty until they have submitted to a body scanner, emptied all their personal items on a table, and then pledged their allegiance to the flag, the president, and to declare that they are a Capitalist.

Without a doubt, the United States has become mostly a police state, surveillance cameras on almost every corner, and in every building, devices that can measure heart rates, body temperature and probably your attitude, and beliefs politically.

The surveillance equipment that is out there is way past what I can imagine, I just fill out my tax return and wonder, like many people in American today…..what does it all go for. Intelligence gathering is a young person’s vocation, things move way too fast for people my age, and it stands to reason that the industry would be for young people, after all, they haven’t known the freedom that we older people have had.

Its funny how opinion seems to have changed over the past seven years, I can remember when the Bush administration was body slammed for its warrantless wiretaps and sniffing antics. Democrats lodged a huge outcry of protest, but now, under a democrat, President Obama, the protest seems to be on the other foot.

Can you say SPOOK, that’s who is running major parts of the country today, it’s how we have all come under the attitude of guilty until proven innocent. The attitude isn’t new, it’s how Native Americans were treated during the Indian Wars, (if they are Indians, shoot um, we’ll sort out the bodies later.) In those days of American history, a person was guilty because the color of his skin…..hummmmm, where have I heard that before.

AND NOW WE HAVE OLD HATCHET FACE

Sorry I couldn’t resist, but Senator Dianne Feinstein, Democrat from California has come to the front and called what the NSA has done by collecting phone records from us, is “protecting America.” Sorry baby, ugh, but when you give up your rights of privacy, you have little to fight for. I protect my right to privacy as a huge part of being an American citizen, and I resent old tomato face saying otherwise.

I do not need any elected or appointed member of the government worrying about my health, my freedom, or my pursuit of happiness and contentment…..I can do all of these things on my own…..thank you very much.

I actually do not care what the U.S. Constitution has to say about my freedoms pretty much because the document can be interpreted so many different ways, and lets fact the facts, government…..our government sometimes disregards what the Constitution says.

I’m going to say this one more time, until we all become informed about every issue that comes along and effects us, we are in danger of having things taken away. It’s actually comical for people to think that elected officials aren’t human, and prone to make the same mistakes that we all make.

Elected officials aren’t any different than us, they just wear a suit and tie to work as opposed to blue-jeans and a tie died shirt. There usually is one difference, and it’s glaring, most politicians are…..pure and simple whores.

They first sell themselves to us, and then to the highest bidder on Capitol Hill, in the halls of Congress, or sometimes on the Senate floor. The back room after hour meetings with Bourbon and wisps of cigar smoke where the real government resides and holds court.

Most don’t start out this way; they actually go to Washington under the noblest of ideas, to help their constituents, and to help make our country a better place to live, work and raise a family. However in the end, the draw of money and perceived power can become overwhelming.

Barak Obama has finally done it…..he has climbed onto the same war wagon as George W. Bush rode, and will be remembered as starting out with so much promise, and finally, in the end, falling from grace, submitting to the feeling of power and elitism.

Checking my Verizon account is just wrong…..and I take offense to it, it is an invasions of my rights as an American. I haven’t done anything, and I don’t have anything to hide…..however if I have done something wrong, and do have something to hide, the government needs to follow the proper procedures to find me out.

HAVE A NICE DAY!
